Description: Zuni silversmith Effie Calavaza was well--known for her signature work which includes blue-eyed snakes around Turquoise stones. This 1" wide cuff is a wonderful example. Two snakes weave through 7 turquoise stones, meeting in the middle as they wrap around the center stone. Stamped "Effie C Zuni" on the inside. Cuff is 8 3/4" including the gap. Silver stamping and the silver beads form a fitting "frame" for her signature snakes. With the width of the cuff, one could easily add a couple of silver bangles for those who like to wear multiple bracelets. Because it is so distinctive, her work has always been quite collectible, (I have a number of Effie C pieces collected over more than a decade), more so since she passed in 2019.
