Offered for Sale is this Edward Weston (1886 - 1958) Photographer Silver Salt Print "Nude" Owned by Singer / Songwriter Dan Fogelberg w/ a COA from his widow Jean Fogelberg Professionally Framed in Excellent Condition. Please read the above for the item's description & condition, and please refer to my photos. This original negative was taken by Edward Weston in 1918, and later printed by the silver salt method by his son, Cole Weston. Included is the framed print signed by Cole Weston in pencil, the two spacers and the backing, and the COA letter from his widow, Jean Fogelberg. The actual image is 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" on stock 13-3/8" x 15"; framed size is 16-1/4" x 20-3/8". The frame is aluminum with conservation matte plexi in the front and clear plexi in the back. The included COA is 8-1/2" x 11" with an embossed seal from Jean Fogelberg. Dan Fogelberg moved to Colorado in the late 1970's. The framing shop that framed this print did so in 1981. Fogelberg either had this and had it framed, or took possession of it at some point while living in Colorado. In 1981 the frame shop covered the back of the print with two spacers and the backing. The frame shop's sticker is visible in the above photos. I had the original glass replaced with conservation matte plexi, and in the reframing the signatures were uncovered. Cole Weston's signature is hand written in pencil, along with the title in the upper right corner. The back of the print has been covered by a clear plexi backer to allow the signature to be visible. Having the signature covered by a backing for 43 years kept it from toning. The back of the print is in as excellent condition as the front. The frame dimensions along with the front mats are untouched; other than the replacing the glass this is as exactly as when Don Fogelberg owned it. The COA from Jean Fogelberg asserts that this was owned by her late husband, and the letter is embossed with her stamp in the lower right corner. Another printing of this same image, also signed by Cole but with a scratch across the image sold for over $5,000. This print is in flawless condition, Cole Weston's signature is on a backer that is free from any toning, and this was owner by singer / songwriter Dan Fogelberg personally.
