Description: I am a retired ObGyn and medical historian who has collected books and instruments for over 40 years. Age and downsizing have prompted me to pass along my items to younger collectors with the space to display them. As time permits, I will be listing approximately 300 books and over 100 instruments on eBay. This is an original 1936 1st Edition of Schumann's " A Textbook of Obstetrics". 581 Illustrations. 780 pp. Hardbound in green cloth with gold stamping on the spine. The cover shows mild shelf wear, but the boards and pages are tight and unmarked except for an owner's nameplate inside the front cover. There is a bit of yellowing inside the back cover. it measures ~ 9.5 6.5 x 1.5", and weighs ~ 3 lb 3 oz. Overall in very good condition. Please look at the photos. Edward Armin Schumann ( 1879-1970) was professor of Obstetrics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. This textbook is a comprehensive review of the usual topics, and is well illustrated.
