Description: Eddy Merckx MX Leader frame with beautiful Leader aero shaped fork. Made of very stiff, light and aerodynamic optimized Columbus MXL Tubes, especially made for Eddy Merckx. Brake Cable is internal routing. Frame has a Race Plate Holder. Pre Owner Name is under Clear Coat. so the frame was likely a team frame sourced directly from Merckx in Belgium. Merckx MX Leader frames have a reputation for being one of best handling steel frames Eddie Merckx ever produced. The frame is straight, and looks great in person. There are various small paint chips and a very shallow, slight indent on the top tube. The dent is so slight that I can't show it in the images. It can only be seen if you really look for it in the right lighting. Probably from the handlebars swinging to hit the thin MXL top tube. This is a common thing to find with MX Leaders and does not affect the ride and strength, or detract from the appearance of the frame. All original. This stunning yellow MX Leader will make a fantastic build with either vintage or more modern components. Bottom Bracket stamped “F3615” “P” dates build to 1996.
