Marginalia throughout as htis was obviously an important reference work referring back to Roman law and became a basis for civil law. Contains all four parts: Codex, Digesta, Institutiones and Novellae. Vellum Binding with banded spine and wooden boards; hand-written Catalogue on first spare along with notes inside front on board and various names and dates within. Some marginalia and underlining.
