Description: This is for a Rare old Drinking Vessel / GobletMeasures: 8" tall by 3-3/4" top rim. This came from a very high end collection of rare antique stemware that took the collector decades to acquire at high end auction houses. They had glass I could identify from the 17th century in the collection and a lot of early Blown American glass from the 1700's & 1800's. The Top blown has a swirled optic look and the rim is drawn out and the carefully "folded over" inside the goblet to make a nice rounded drinking rim. Bulbous stem with knop attached to a plain base with pontil mark on bottom. Typical bubbles and flaws in the body.During extensive research I found no other glasses like this, however you can see similar other examples of early glass and goblets in this color & style in Museums such as Corning & the Met. and other places around the world. I even saw a goblet with the same color, swirl and rim attributed to 5th to 8th century Roman / Byzantine glassware but I have a hard time dating it back that far myself. I am not attributing this piece to any specific company, origin or era. Please do your own research on these qualities I have listed above and don't forget the folded in rim & optic swirl.I see no damage. This is an early blown goblet and the glass has the typical natural flaws one might see in an early blown piece of glass. Lots of different size littles bubbles. Rough Pontil Mark on bottom. The base is not exactly flat so there is a slight wobble in one direction but not enough to be a problem or cause an issue..................................................... *No Returns/Refunds Policy*...Please Note that we do not accept returns or refunds.
