Description: Spanish Colonial / Mexican "Holy Family" Oil on Tin Retablo depicting the Holy Family, featuring Jesus( the Christ child), Mary, and Joseph with a dove flying overhead that symbolizes the Holy Spirit. Mary and Joseph holds Jesus' hands as they walk through a lush, green landscape, framed on a wood board frame, Mexico, early 19th century circa 1820. Wonderful antique patina that only comes with age. There are some imperfections as this piece is very old. The lower left corner of tin canvas is turned up folded over, the tin has a few ripples, and the paint is missing in some areas. Overall the condition is consistent with the age of this piece. Wood frame has a tiny piece of wood missing in the upper left hand corner and small crack upper left of center. Please see photo's.
