Description: This amazing jacket is not without some flaws due to age. The embroidered around the neck is loose(strings are), Silk around the back of the neck shows discoloration, yellowing, and wear. There are a few very tiny holes(see photos) on outside and inside. Around the button is some red paint(hopefully that's what it is hah), and some white on the inside. Heavier material. See photos for full condition and sizing. Condition 5/10. This is a early 1900s era Nurse's Cape(possible earliest is 1908). There is probability that it is from a State Hospital because there are others that have been sold and or collected that are very similar in material, condition and buttons. I however cannot guarantee this because this item has no interior tags of any sort. This jacket was altered with a string lace and a back neck guard of what seems to be silk.
