Volume 25, "Reports of Cases Argued & Determined in the Supreme Court of the State of Vermont", by John Deane. It is annual Volume 25 of the Series, or Volume II of the New Series. It lists the Supreme Court judges during the period covered by this book. Also in the contents is a table of cases that are reported and included, and a table of names of cases that are cited in the opinions of the courts, etc. Then the text proceeds with all the individual cases in complete detail. GREAT, VERY EARLY LEGAL READING !!! Printed in 1854 in Brattleboro, Vermont. A nice looking, early leatherbound book for a bookshelf. Very nice patina overall and leather is still soft. 760 pages long. Leather covers are very good and text pages are in perfect condition for the age. Nice early paper and "deep" letterpress print. Binding is tight which is also uncommon for early books. I can't do full justice with a description of contents here, but you will not be disappointed. I include some of the contents pages so you can get a better idea of specific content. This is a volume of the entire set of law books that belonged to my great-grandfather, who was a lawyer in Northern Vermont, and his father, my great-great grandfather who was a lawyer and county judge before him. The set ranges from 1840 through 1895 and I will be selling the entire set. A great resource and interesting reading for anyone. Over 160 YEARS OLD !! 9" x 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" thick.
