Description: Interesting cabinet photograph depicting a normal size man pointing to a very tall Native looking man. The Native man has Bone ring in nose and ear and face paint. He wears an open ling sleeve robe and has a leopard like loin covering. He also wears pants and fur topped boots. Possibly a circus performer or side show exhibit. Photograph published by Edrick L. Eaton of Omaha. Eaton was a prolific publisher of photographs in the Omaha, Nebraska area for over 30 years. He began in 1860 shooting local buildings, area scenery and Indians. His notable series include views of President Ulysses S. Grant’s visit to Omaha in 1875 and a fine set showing Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1880 (details on his trip there are unknown). Eaton remained in Omaha until at least 1892. Dated 1888 on the back along with Eaton’s studio information. 4 ¼” x 6 ¼”. The image is not too bad. Blurry (movement) over the smaller man’s head and edge chipping. See scans.
