Description: Doulton & Slaters Patent Blue White Brown & Gold Open Sugar Circa 1886-1914 Nice brown and buff stoneware open sugar. Decorated with blue, white, and brown highlights to the flower pattern. Marked Doulton & Slaters Patent on the base. This was a process which involves the use of lace fabrics impressed into the surface of clay as a decorative technique. This mark was used between 1886 and 1914. The patent was granted in 1882 in England and 1885 in the US. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide from handle to handle x 3 1/8 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
