Description: Walt Disney’s Donald Duck number 45, January to February 1956, published by Dell. It is in about good condition with some water stains at the edges. This issue has several stories with appearances by Huey, Dewey, Louie, Uncle Scrooge, and others, written and drawn by Carl Barks, Paul Murry, Dick Moores, and others. This is the version with no ad on the back cover and 9 pages of Barks art, versus the standard 6. Many of the Four Colors have 2 versions, but only occasionally did other titles have 2 versions. They not only removed the ad from the back cover, they removed all outside advertising, which was usually restricted to the back cover, and the inside of the front and back covers, freeing up 3 more pages for story and art. In this case, the pages were taken up by 3 Carl Barks one pagers. This particular book used to be mentioned in the guide, but hasn’t been for a long time. Look for more listings from me in the coming weeks as I have thousands of books and tens of thousands of comics, as I have been collecting for about 50 years. I will be sorting and listing as time permits. There will probably be some oddball items as well. Thanks for looking.
