Description: Jenny Lind was a famous singer known as "The Swedish Nightingale" and she toured the US starting around 1850.She was so popular that her name became an important brand that sold everything from clothing to furniture. During her US tour, she supposedly slept on this type of spool/spindle bed, and it became known as the Jenny Lind bed. The name still endures. This hard to find spool/spindle bed is by R.L. Carlisle, a very talented miniaturist. Signed with his name and date on the underside. Approx. size of bed: 6 1/2" long x 3 1/4" tall headboard x 4" wide. This was my mom's favorite miniature bed, so we bought a number of them because we were going to dress them, but we never found the time. You are purchasing only the bed shown in the first photo. NOTHING ELSE IS INCLUDED. Coverlet and pillows were added to give viewer a better idea of size and scale. Not for children. For the adult collector.
