It supposed to light up but unfortunately the batteries exploded inside the pillow, fortunately the battery case protected the pillow from any damage. I tried to tested it but no luck. The plush is in similar condition the batteries are dead and are not replaceable. Other than that they very well taken care of see pictures for more details. Sold as is
