The comment below is from Disney acknowledging that they are aware of some issues with these new rechargeable bands. Magic band + officially launched yesterday (7/27/22) but guests are experiencing issues with pairing their devices as well as updating their new rechargeable bands. In order to access all Magic and+ features it must be paired via Bluetooth to your ' My Disney Experience.' Some guests are reporting having issues getting their bands to connect. Cast Members are telling some guests that some of the SOLID COLOR BANDS are being pulled from shelves because they are unable to connect. These include (solid color bands only) navy, cream and red bands. Guests are also REQUIRED to update their MagicBand+ before using it. Unfortunately, because the bands are NOT fully charged when you purchase the new rechargeable bands, they are not charged enough (out of the box) to do a proper update until your new rechargeable band is fully charged first.
