Description: Entick's English-Latin Latin-English Dictionary original 1836 copy Language lear Description Dictionary of the English Language This is an 1824 Hardcover (leather boards) 'abstracted from the folio edition' by the author, Samuel Johnson. Says 'London Stereotype Edition'. Single volume Hardcover, 5.25 x 8", 36 + 732 pages. Published by a whole slew of small companies - over 50 of them. NB PLEASE NOTE that this copy is NOT in good condition, having detached boards and no spine covering. The first two (blank) pages are detached. The back end paper is probably missing, and the last half dozen or so pages are detached in a single page and a small block of pages. It needs completely rebinding, in short! Stab mark through the first dozen pages about 2" up from the bottom in the left-hand margin, producing a hole about 1 cm at its biggest (not affecting any text). The pages are tanning with age, but are in pretty good, expected, condition.
