Description: This Top is Embroidered with the Dharmachakra Mudra, a hand gesture used on many depictions of Gautama Buddha, and is said to have been first used by him at his first teaching after Enlightenment. Dharma means ‘divine law’ and chakra means ‘wheel’, together meaning ‘Wheel of Law’. The thumb and forefinger positions create two connected circles, symbolizing continuity and the continuous flow of energy in the body, in a lifetime, and among lifetimes. The Dharmachakra mudra, based on a core tenet of Hinduism and Buddhism, also represents the union of the inner world with the outer world. The top started as solid black, and through the technique of Reverse Shabori Dying created a One of a Kind Piece with subtle Red, Black and Gray gradations.
