There's a closeup of the trim on the front of the plate - it provides interest without overpowering the center picture. There are no chips, crazing, or cracks but please look carefully at the photos - I tried to capture a typical fault in the finish. There are some rust stains on the back that look like they are from a plate hanger. There is a rough feel to one of the peaks in the rim design but it does not show up in the photo - even under 4x magnification.
