This brand is known for the basket needing to be shut pretty hard for safety reasons for the air fryer to turn on. I tested it and it does turn on fine but yes you do need to make sure basket is pushed in well (safety it will automatically turn off if it’s not pushed in hard so a child can’t pull it) Works great though brand new never used
