Description: Additional Information from Movie Mars Product Description Geraldine Page stars in Mann's old-fashioned romantic comedy as Evie Jackson, a small-town postmistress whose charming eccentricity has frequently driven men away. When she comes to New York for a postmasters' convention, she meets greeting-card salesman Harry Mork (Glenn Ford), who's about to marry Phyllis (Angela Lansbury), after years on the road. But before he ties the knot, he's looking for one last fling, and blowsy salesgirl June (Barbara Nichols) seems to fit the bill. However, things don't go exactly as Harry had planned, and he decides to go to a party with Evie, whom he had met earlier. He's surprised to find himself attracted to this unusual woman, and she's completely taken with him, which leads to disappointment when he shows her the apartment he's picked out for himself and his new wife. Resigned to loneliness, she decides to go home. But when Phyllis arrives in New York, Harry sees a darker side of his fiance, making him see Evie in a new light. The brilliant Geraldine Page is the embodiment of unselfconscious charm, in the kind of warm, understated romance that were Tad Mosel's specialty during the Golden Age of TV. Ford and Angela Lansbury also turn in fine performances. About Movie Mars All items are Brand New. We offer unbeatable prices, quick shipping times and a wide selection second to none.
