Description: Vanguard Illustrated #2 from Pacific Comics published in 1984 One of Dave Stevens' most iconic covers, up there with Planet Comics and Space Vixens in terms of Good Girl Sci-Fi art. The characters are the Stargrazers and you have to imagine that Dave was channeling his inner George Lucas as the Stargrazers are quickly loading a ship getting ready to do the Kessel run in twelve parsecs. Too nerdy? Dave Stevens does such an amazing job of drawing expressive faces and characters in motion or striking dramatic poses. This cover really has it all. The book itself is in the VF range. There are a handful of spine ticks on the book (~10) but only one of them really seems to break color on the front. There's a larger tick on the back that is hidden by the white back cover. The book has a slight fold that does vertically through the entire book that does not break color at all, but that does alter the shape of the book a little. A press would absolutely take that out and make this are very solid VF/VF+ copy at least.
