Description: In 1971 Dave Gilbert went to dinky toy with copies of the early dinky toy cars and trucks made out of white metal. He proposed that he make collector white metal quality copies of the dinky toys for sale. Dinky toy confirmed that they were a toy company and did not propose to do collector cars. They did authorize him to make copies on his own as long as Dinky toys name was not on them, and also requested that the copies he brought be put into the dinky toy museum. So he made copies of the 24 series , 30 series and 36 series cars. He later got into making additional 1930’s style toys in the dinky toy manner of design like this one. This is a copy of the 1935 Riley Kestrel saloon. Although the Kestrel came out before 1935, this match’s a fender style change in 1935. This one has the DGM molded on the bottom. It comes in a near perfect original box. Despite the photo reflecting something on the grill, it is perfect with no flaws in the chrome. Because I’m a dinky toy collector, I do collect DG models and this is a duplicate of one that I already have. I did start the bidding at a price lower than the going rate. I do offer free returns to US buyers
