The naming of marbles serves a few purposes for classification, but I prefer to think of the names as a fun way of remembering my youngster years when I was playing marbles in the dirt on the playground during recess time. Some of the names for marbles in this Equinox run include the following: Desert Turquoise, Buttermilk, West Virginian, Oxblood Babe, Superman, Autumn Skies, Citrus Splash, Slimers, Minty Pinks, Christmas Tree, Halloween, Emerald Monarch, Pretty In Pink, Bloody Grinch, Splendor and the famous Peacock. This marble is definitely from the Buttermilk family with its characteristic wispy cream colored swirls internal to the marble. It literally looks like someone just finished whipping up some cream buttermilk from a churn on the farm. The outstanding features on this particular Buttermilk is the huge gold lutz chunks and the pink confetti frit that turn it into a guinea style marble. The very subtle pink confetti is a rare type of confetti in most DAS & JABO marble runs. Mostly, you will see the brighter colors of oxblood, blue, green etc. This is a rare style and the clarity of the marble glass is so good that it gives incredible depth into the wispy white buttermilk clouds. This one marble truly has it all. I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is 0.710" in diameter measured with electronic calipers.
