Suitable for plein air traveling or studio work. In sealed slipcase gift box with: Uniquely numbered brush, soft leather carrying case, and certificate. Only 500 were manufactured. The brush series is named 1519 because the year 1519 is when Leonardo da Vinci passed away. Brush specs: -Series 1519. Size 3. Eloquent, compact short length - Measures about 6.75" long from tip to end. -Hand-crafted watercolor brush made with Pure Kolinsky Sable hair, bound with brass wire in quill style. Specialty colored Nordic "Raffir Wood" (resin filled wood) handle - Engraved with the company's script insignia and the edition number of the brush (out of 500). -Ethergraf (non-toxic) Italian metalpoint tip at the end of the handle that works in a similar way to a silverpoint drawing tool. On this occasion, the in Nuremberg based artist brush factory da Vinci DEFET GmbH published a limited edition in honour of this universal genius of the Renaissance - series 1519. The edition is limited to 500 pieces. This selected brush is packed in a high-quality black cardboard slipcase. For the transport there is a high-quality velvet soft leather case enclosed. This brush is made of pure Kolinsky red sable hair, shaped piece by piece by a master's hand and, according to tradition, carefully tied by wire onto a specially developed handle made of so-called raffir wood with an Ethergraf metal tip at the end. With this non-toxic metal tip you can draw and sketch on many modern papers. Each brush is unique due to the lasered serial number and the carefully selected handle material.
