I carefully cut a thin layer from the box's top and fitted it inside, then placed a pane of glass over it so you can use the ashtray without damaging the surface. The box is inlaid with Maple & Katalox, no stains, just the natural beauty of the wood. It's finished with lacquer to enhance and protect the wood grain. This is the first time I placed an inlay within another inlay and I think it came out great !! This ashtray is both large (10" x 7.5" x 1.5") and heavy, designed to last a lifetime if properly cared for. In fact, many people end up hanging them as display pieces—they're almost too beautiful to use. If you're searching for a truly unique gift for a cigar lover, you won't find anything like this anywhere else. Each ashtray I make is one of a kind. I never repeat the same combination of design, box size, finish, or inlay, so you're guaranteed something entirely original.
