The bench made custom wooden chess board is made from Cherry, Walnut and Ash hard woods with brass hardware and corner pegs pins. When closed up, the game board measures approx 12.5" square and 3.75" tall with a weight of 7.8 pounds. The wooden case/playing board does have a few light scratches, but it's in overall very good condition. The bottom is signed Edward A Burger (??) "EDWOOD". Based on a google search, I found the following info online about this artist: Edwood WoodcraftsOley, PAI have been woodworking for over 30 years. I use all local sourced hardwoods, which I harvest and mill on my personal sawmill to construct intricate laminated items for turning on the lathe. I use a contrasting wood style to create functional as well as artistically pleasing items. Examples of work: salad bowls, cutting boards, rolling pins, peppermills, vases, clocks, tankards, lazy susans, and more. All items have a maintenance-free non-toxic finish.
