Description: 1928 Algeria 20 Francs Currency Pick Number 78b Very Fine Banknote For your World Currency Collection-PCU1613 Details Description: A nice very fine banknote from Algeria. This is the April 6, 1928 Twenty Francs or Vingt Francs. The date is shown as 6-4-1928 in the center of the front. This note is a dull purple on blue under-print. It depicts the portrait of young woman wearing a head dress at the lower right corner of the front. The back has the same coloring and has the image of two children holding a diamond having the number 20 in it. There are cactus plants to the left. The note is mostly in French with the denomination spelled out in Arabic on the front. This particular note has the serial number 66529917 located in the top center of the front. It is series E.2662 and has another number in the top right corner and bottom left corner (917). It has two signatures both in French. The banknote has watermark which says twenty francs in Arabic in a small white circle on top of a larger white circle having a water mark with a woman in a head dress facing right. Both circles are to the left of the front. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: 6-4-1928 (April 6, 1928). Printer: Banque de France. Size: The banknote measures ~6 1/2" by ~4 1/8". Pick Number: P 78b and is listed in the Banknote Book as B124b. I would grade this banknote as very fine with all the details being still well preserved. The note has many folds both vertical and horizontal as well as general wrinkling. It is soiled and has a few stains. The edges are rough and show nicks and minor losses at the end of some of the folds. The note has no tears or splits. It is also without pinholes, graffiti, or repairs. The corners are rounded with bumps and creases but are intact. The note may have been lightly press but is relatively limp and has lost its stiffness and crispiness. Its colors are a bit faded but still there.
