Description: This is a Crosman 760 Checked Stock and Forearm - Brass Bolt - Second Variant in outstanding condition for 53 year old This is an exceptionally nice example of a fully functional Variant 2 Crosman 760. The date stamp on the barrel retainer is 12 1 which indicates a January 1971 manufacturing date. It pumps firmly, holds air and fires with a strong crack. Both the stock and the forearm are in excellent condition. The barrel and pump tube have a nice shine with no pits or rust. The receiver has no noticeable chips or scratches. In fact it still retains the original "Use Crosman BBs" sticker. If this gun was ever in use it was seldom. This is a 53 year old collector grade specimen. Includes period correct Crosman Branded scopeIncludes original Owners Manual. Includes new tube of Crosman Pellgun Oil The Variant 2 with the styrene checked forearm is becoming harder to find. About half way through the production run, Crosman switched the plastic checked stock out for a smooth wooden stock. The rumor is the checked stock could crack or break under heavy use so Crosman made a mid-run change. Between the broken forearms and the switchover to a wooden forearm, the Varint 2s with the checked forearm were only in production for a little over 2 years and are getting harder to find. Fully Functional. Strong shooter. Collector quality. Exhaust Valve and Pump Piston have been rebuilt. Seals have been replaced. Feel free to ask any questions. NOTE ON SHIPPING: I I normally detach the stock from a Crosman 760 so it will fit in a slightly smaller box (a single slotted screw). This saves you a bit on the shipping but more importantly, I have found that the larger the package is, the more the shipping services tend to beat it up. In essence a smaller box reduces the likelihood of damage in shipping. If reattaching the stock upon delivery would be a problem for you, please let me know and I will ship this 760 fully assembled in a longer box.
