Much has changed in the past 21 years, and it's interesting to see how perceptions, attitudes and realities are different now than at the time the book came out.The author viewed the violence in the book as essential to the story, hopefully provoking revulsion about hate crimes against gay people in the same way a story about a concentration camp would provoke abhorrence of Nazi atrocities.I think it would be a heartless person indeed who wouldn't care about the plight of the Catherine Kelsey and Lisa Marie Gianni characters as the suspense about their fate grows as the story reaches its gripping conclusion.I am proud to offer the book for sale at a very modest price.
