Cream Rayon Cisco 50” Scarf Mandel Bros in Original Marshall Field Christmas Box

Description: This is a rare unique vintage set: 1 New Cream Colored Rayon (Size 8) Cisco Brand 48-50” Long Scarf (14” wide) with Fringe Ends. This looks to be brand new still folded and wrapped in tissue paper with Gold Mandel Brothers Chicago sticker. It was folded in 4 sections, 2 measure 12” 2 measure 13” (see photo) so it’s probably 50”. This was likely purchased new in the late 1960’s / 1970’s, based on the Mandel Bros bio (referenced below) The box. A rare collectible original Marshall Field Box Red with Green and Gold Christmas theme with Trees, script holiday song lyrics “jingle bells, jingle bells” and “all is calm, all is bright” and “joy to the world” as well as “Marshall Field and Company the store of the Christmas spirit”. Box is in pretty good shape, with some signs of wear in the corner edges. BONUS: 1 Black Invizo Brand Adjustable Bow Tie with notches for what appears to be Sizes 13.5 & 14 & 14.5 & 15 (material not mentioned). This was kept in the same box and may have been worn but looks in good shape. Being sold as is as pictured. About Mandel Bros. This retail enterprise, which would become one of Chicago's leading department stores, was founded in 1855 by Bavarian immigrants Solomon Mandel and his uncle Simon Klein. Their first store was located on Clark Street. In 1865, after Solomon's brothers Leon and Emanuel joined the firm, its name became Mandel Bros. Purchasing in New York and Paris and selling in Chicago, the enterprise grew. By the 1880s, its new store on the corner of State and Madison Streets employed about 800 people. By the beginning of the twentieth century, the workforce had grown to over 3,000 people. Rebuilt in 1912 and renovated in 1948, the State Street store continued to operate into the 1970s, when the company folded amid State Street's demise as a major retail center.
