The CUT SIZE of the tape BEFORE entering the folder is 3" The FINISH SIZE of the tape AFTER Underfolding the Top ONLY is 1-1/4" The Tape is folded TWICE on the TOP (Clean Finish) and NOT FOLDED on the BOTTOM (Raw Finish). This is the "A STYLE" standard "Collarette" Folder used on all kinds of T-shirts and Tops, especially Knitwear. There are two adjustable edge guides screwed onto this world class binder. One sliding guide sets the top edge of the fabric and the other sliding guide sets the bottom fabric edge giving the operator total control over the configuration of the binding. This binder sets perfectly folded binding onto the Collars, Armholes, and Bottoms of Knit Tops. This Coverstitch Binder is called a POST BINDER style because it is designed to mount onto a binder post on the front of the Coverstitch Machine. The Coverstitch machine is either configured for a Binder at the factory or a Regular, Non-Post machine can be converted into a POST Binder Coverstitch. These are Double Fold on BOTH TOP and BOTTOM. THE BINDING: Take a look at your pre-cut roll of bias binding tape or a strip of your proposed binding fabric. There are 2 very important aspects of Binding: 1) Pull on boths ends of a 6" to 8" section of binding. Does it get very narrow when you pull? The best functioning binding will NOT get much narrower when pulled slightly. It will stay close to the same width. If it does get TOO narrow it may cause either the top or bottom of the finished binding to "roll out". 2) Pull on boths ends of a 6" to 8" section of binding. Do the edges roll? Too much rolling of the edges can mean trouble. And even worse, if there is a "FACE" or "Right Side" to the binding fabric, check to see if the rolling edges are rolling with the "FACE" out. If the natural roll is "FACE" in then the Binder must fold the binding against it's natural roll. If you have Binding that gets narrow when pulled and also rolls considerably and is rolling "FACE" in, these binders likely will not work properly.
