Description: Corgi TwisterzHoodz - GTC VenomNew / Unused on Sealed Blister Pack Card Corgi Toys was created by the Mettoy ("Metal Toy") company, who decided to produce a range of diecast toy vehicles as competition to Dinky, which had dominated the British market for many years. "Corgi Toys" were introduced in the UK in July 1956 and were manufactured in Swansea, Wales, for 27 years before the company went into liquidation. A management buy-out re-formed the company as Corgi Toys Limited in March 1984. In 1989, the management sold the Corgi brand to Mattel, although the factory was retained for a time under the name of "Microlink Industries Ltd". Main operations were moved to Mattel's UK base in Leicester, while most of the manufacturing was moved to China.In 1995, Corgi regained its independence as a new company, Corgi Classics Limited. The Corgi brand was then acquired by Hornby in 2008.This model is from 2006 and is one of a series called Twisterz. By twisting and pulling, the two halves of the car could be separated, and by collecting others in the series, the parts of one car could be connected to the parts of another, giving 256 possible combinations to create.
