The medal is from the Museum of Czech Literature located in Prague the capital of the Czech Republic. The medal shows a set of old buildings with towers on the obverse. There is the logo of the museum consisting of a lion resting its paw on books in a circle in the center on top of the image and the notation dH/77 in the doorway in the bottom of the image (presumably the initials of the artist). The legend "Pamatnik narodiho pisemnictvi" (which translate to monument to native writing) surrounds the image. The reverse has an abstract rendition of a tree in the center, with a long trunk and round top, flanked by the face of a man and a woman. There are also symbols of art, music, writing, theater, architecture, etc. flanking the trunk of the tree. The image is surrounded by the legend "Muzeum ceske literatury v praze" which translates to "Museum of Czech Literature in Prague". The medal is of high relief and very well executed. Condition: The medal is in great condition and I would grade it as mint state with no signs of circulation if any. The medal has no observable wear with a very nice patina and minimum surface marks. A substantial medal of high relief weighing 178 grams and measuring 74 millimeters. The medal is problem free and has great eye appeal.
