Description: Here we have a very scarce complete set of 5 very-vintage Stetson (United States) American Beauty nesting mixing bowls. Due to the fragility of the materials and the very tight nesting room of the bowls, they will need to be sent double-boxed within a very large box of at least 16x16x16 size, probably larger, which accounts for the high price of shipping. Vintage: the heyday of this pattern was the 1950s Maker/Marks: Stetson/see photos for marks Approximate Measurements: diameters of bowls are: 9", 8", 7", 6" and 5" Condition: Our photos show the condition best and are the most important part of the description. Please enlarge and zoom in on all of them, and examine them carefully before bidding. All are very bright and shiny, very clean and fresh, with light wear to the gold. Some have very light crazing in spots, which is visible only upon close examination. All of the crazing is completely clear, with no staining. No stains to any, and no gray/silver utensil marks from stirring. Overall, they have the appearance of having been used, but very well taken care of. The 8" bowl has the only major flaw -- an area with cracks that do not go all the way through the pottery. These are more like age splits than cracks in that they affect the appearance of the exterior, but do not go all the way through the side into the interior, making the bowl usable if one takes care not to expose it to widely varying temperatures, i.e. don't use it to serve hot food or to hold food in the refrigerator. It still displays beautifully as well. Here's how the photos work: after the first few photos showing the overall set, the photos will follow a pattern: the smallest bowl is displayed on its own, followed by a photo of it from the top, one of it from the bottom, and then photos of any appearance issues that stand out. If there is only a photo of the top and bottom, then there are no appearance issues that stand out. The same order is followed for each bowl, starting to the smallest and working up to the biggest one. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
