The book is in good/very good condition, with moderate wear. There are numerous inkstamps on the inside covers and endpages. These inkstamps identify the book as having once belonged to Wesley H. Maurer. Wesley H. Maurer (1897-1995) was Professor of Journalism at the University of Michigan. He was chair of their journalism department for seventeen years. There is at least one journalism award named after Maurer that is presented annually. Maurer was known for his political activism. It is less well known that he was affiliated with the Communist Party, and helped to organize several conferences that were fronts for Communist Party activity.
