Description: This is the lightest tee ball bat ever produced at drop 13. It was also evidently so hot that it was specifically banned from our local Cal Ripken and travel ball back in the day. I spoke with some older parents that went through the league years earlier and they talked about a "blue Combat Bomb bat" that had kids hitting balls out into the parking lot 20 feet past the fence on our tee ball field. After hearing multiple older parents mention it and referencing how much shorter the ball was now flying, I had to find this mythical thing. I ended up determining that the bat was actually called a Combat B1/B2 "Da Bomb" but I was unable to find a blue version anywhere. In my research I found out Combat actually made two versions - a blue one that the boys liked and a "purple" one more for the girls. The Blue bats are long gone but managed to find a new in the wrapper "purple" version (which looks more maroon to me). Unfortunately, my younger son had just aged out of tee ball so we never actually tried the thing. I purchased it anyway as kind of a historical novelty. Something else interesting - this bat is actually currently legal for USA Bat play. The USA Bat program used to offer a self certification program for parents to allow using older used bats in order to keep cost down (basically to let players still use an older siblings old bat). I took advantage of this program and decided to apply my self certificate sticker to this bat. You can read the USA Bat rules yourself, this bat is 100% legal for tee ball play in any legal requiring USA certified bats. My kids have long since outgrown it but maybe you can have some fun with the thing. The walls seem insanely thin. One other thing I remember, the parents I spoke to said that the bat HAD to be broken in to get the crazy performance. They said the ones that were the most worn out (literally small cracks) were the insanely hot ones.
