Scabbard is NOT included. These are clones of the M5A1 bayonet but not made as well. The grip scales on these are thinner and more prone to cracking. Under the MAP (Military Assistance Program), the US provided approximately 348,814 M1 Garand rifles and approximately 41,176 bayonets to Korea from 1951 to 1972. Clones were then produced in Korea, this is the clone with the Ministry of Defense marking on the guard. Overall, this bayonet is in Very Good - Very Good Plus condition. The press catch is functional with stiff spring tension. Both the pommel and guard are securely fastened to the tang. They have light handling marks and scuffs with a light layer of superficial oxidation. The screws securely fastens the two (2) grip panels. The screws have light oxidation but strong slots. The grips have light handling marks and scuffs, but no notable damage. The checkering is distinct. The spine and sides have light handling marks and scuffs, plus some light oxidation. The blade appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. Most of the parkerized finish is intact. The marking is hard to see, but it is the South Korean Ministry of Defense mark on top of the guard. This bayonet will be a great addition to your rifle, or a bayonet collection in general.
