Three yearslater came the Metropolitan Opera auditions and John becamethe youngest man to ever become a National Finalist at agetwenty. Immediately following graduation John began workingwith the Metropolitan Opera Studio in New York. There heperformed several operatic roles in both New York andthroughout the United States. Under the auspices of the Met hethen sang while travelling to over twenty-five countries.Sensing a need at age twenty-four, the young man came back toTennessee to study once more with his good friend and highlyrespected teacher, Professor Edward Zambara.It was then that the Lord began to make His will most clearlyknown to John. Through an unusual "coincidence" ofcircumstances (as John has said, "I don't believe incoincidences.") John entered the music ministry serving the FirstBaptist Church of Clinton, Tennessee. After a tenure of threeyears there, he felt the need to once again sing "full-time" onlythis time it was sacred music. As he says, "The Lord has blessedme greatly throughout my life; He has opened doors and givenme direction in ways that greatly exceed any possibility ofcoincidence. It was only fitting then that my first album shouldbe one of sacred music.
