It has a number of nice features including a lid safety latch which prevents the centrifuge from spinning while the lid is open puts the lid in lock mode when closed and prevents the lid from opening until the centrifuge comes to a full stop. The centrifuge is conveniently shipped fully assembled with a rotor already inside the unit. The 12-place rotor can accommodate Sero-Tubes (75 mm x 10 mm) Kahn Tubes (75 mm x 12 mm) and 75 mm x 13mm tubes. Becton-Dickinson also offers 8 and 6-place rotors that accommodate different types of tubes. In addition to the tubes mentioned above the 8-place rotor can accommodate Vacutainer Blood Collection Tubes 64 mm x 10.25 mm tubes 82 mm x 10.25 mm tubes 100 mm x 13 mm tubes and 103 mm x 10.25 mm tubes.
