Description: Civil war soldiers items lot. Comes with Knapsack, sharp shooter glasses, smoothside canteen, mess set (cup, bowl, and utensils), Colt's patent bullet mold, and a confederate "I" infantry coat button(found stuck in the bottom of haversack. Smoothside canteen is rusting through at the bottom of one side, has no cover, strap, or stopper(cork). Bullet mold is a Colt's patent smaller caliber mold , probably .36 caliber. Has the conical and round cavities. Hinge, and sprue cutter are still pretty tight. Has some rust and pitting all over and one handle looks bent in a little. Confederate infantry button has the "superior quality" back mark, dented face, and bent shank (normal) and some minor rust. This was stuck in the bottom of the knapsack when I first got it, not sure if it's been in there since the war or not but I figured I'd keep it with the sack . It could have been a war trophy. Knapsack is old, stiff and fragile! Still has a lot of the original buckles, hooks, and straps. It does have some holes in canvas and cracking on straps. It also smells old! But still displays nice. Sharpshooter glasses have the orange colored lenses with the outside of the lenses fogged and a clear center circle. Has some bends in the temples and hinges are a little loose . Comes with case from "Queen and Co." Philadelphia. The case is NOT from the civil war, I just put the glasses in it to protect them. Mess set has a cup, "US" Stamped bowl, and a knife & fork. All of these have some rusting. Everything in this lot has wear, rusting, peeling consistent with age and use. Feel free to ask any questions or if you need more photos
