Size: 26.5in blade, .8 wide, widens to .9 near the tip Condition: VG These NCO swords are quite scarce. There were very few companies in the south that even made them. This example by Boyle, Gamble has a small oval guard with only a knuckle bow leading up to the undecorated pommel. Pommel is marked with the number 17 - likely an assembly number. The guard has a recessed area on the underside with a two step border and foliate decoration on the top. The quillon is flat sided with only decoration running down the top. The blade has a deeply ground, unstopped fuller beginning 1/2 inch from the guard and running 19 inches. The top seamed leather scabbard has a brass throat with frog stud and a brass drag with a long drag blade.
