Description: This is a child's pencil box that might sit in his or her lap, but most likely it would have been on top of a table or desk. It was absolutely hand made. The top is made of nine separate boards (note the layers). The bottom and sides as well are made up of many boards that make up the piece. The hinges work perfectly, the piece is very solid and sturdy. I have included many photos, and there are photos that show the measurements of the box itself. The wood appears to be fir, and it may be old growth as the boards are clear and free of knots. Whomever built the box did an excellent job. The varnish ran a bit when they finished it, but that adds to the interest of the piece. It would be a nice addition for any home school child's supplies, or just a decoration that would be useful for many things. Shipping will be USPS., UPS., or FedEx.
