And dare I say thank goodness his style evolved! These are pretty generic 50s style illustrations. He left that behind as he went on to create classic characters like "Frog and Toad" and many other beautiful picture books. Practically speaking, this is a good, basic introduction to Jewish holidays. Notes on condition: dust jacket: none - as issued? (not sure) binding: paper-over-board quite clean; slight scuffing along spine, especially at bottom; rubbing with board exposure to top and bottom corners interior pages: amazingly clean for its age - paper has not discolored; no rips; but the front end paper does have marks in blue ink = a gift inscription + some child's scrawls (see photo #9) Please see photos to get a sense of the nice condition and the amusing illustrations.
