Description: This is a framed in glass signed and numbered (02/100) giclee of an original drawing by John Carsello of The Chicago Theater Celebrating 100 Years! Note on the marquee playing at the Chicago Theater It's a Wonderful Life and Benny Goodman, King of Swing This giclee of an original pencil drawing of the historic Chicago Theater. I have been going to this theater since I was a child. I chose to put "It's A Wonderful Life" on the marquee because it is a wonderful life. On the side marquee I chose Benny Goodman because he was from Chicago and played there with his orchestra. Also notice a 1956 Thunderbird, one of my favorite cars. Original drawing by John Carsello - artist and ranch/studio manager of the Caribou Ranch Recording Studio in the 1970's - 1980's The theater first opened as a dazzling movie palace that was part of the Balaban & Katz theater empire. Silent films were shown along with full orchestras performing during the features. The theatre was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and was listed as a Chicago Landmark in 1983, Ready to hang (frame size is 8 x 10) - a great gift for you or someone you love. tub A
