Description: This is the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1992. The artwork deals with overcrowding at Cook County Jail in Chicago. (Checking the internet I found news articles from August of 1992 mentioning that the jail was over capacity by 1800 prisoners and that more than 50 inmates had just been injured during a fight at the jail.) The artwork measures approx. 11-5/8" x 16-7/8". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges - the artist's work shows with some corrections as the piece was crafted - there are some editor notes written along the left border - there is some light dirt in the lower right hand corner of the border and just above that there is a stray pencil mark. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator.
