Description: This is a Charles Louis Kratke, (French engraver, sculpture and genre painter 1848-1921) colored etching inspired by Theodore Rousseau's painting "Under the Birches". It is beautifully displayed in a gorgeous wood frame. According to a reference I found from the New England Art Exchange, this plate was made in 1883 and has Kratke signature marking.
