Description: Today I’m listing a lovely example of a Chad Valley English Palace Guard. He is 20 inches tall with a pressed felt painted face and glass eyes. (The doll’s age is post British patent, 1924-5 for glass eyes.) The doll does not appear to be touched up. The clothing is clean, with minimal wear. The doll’s original outfit includes the jacket, pants, hat, belt, and shoes. He also has the rare-to-find original tag that reads: “Chad Valley Hygienic Toys Made in England.” There is a small hole near the corner of the doll’s right eye and an even smaller one near the left. Both are barely noticeable. One button on the back of the jacket is missing. This doll comes from a smoke and pet free home. This is a wonderful example of a Chad Valleydoll for anyone’s collection.
