Description: Vintage pottery bust of Charles Lindburgh (I believe) by noted San Diego sculptor, friend and collegue of Donal Hord (the dean of san diego sculptors). Good condition, signed on back and dated 1974This appears to be a pottery maquette (prototype) for a bronze. Shipping outside continental US additional charge Frank Morgan 1916-1985. In 1939 Morgan began producing the 120 major works of art for which he would become famous. At that time he studied with Donal Hord, the dean of San Diego sculptors, in San Diego. In 1980 Frank was honored with a gold medal for his body of work by the Accadamia Italia della Arti a el Lavori and examples of his sculptures appeared in the Bronzes, Sculptures and Founders Encyclopedia. By 1982 his pieces had been accepted for the sixth consecutive year by the National Sculpture Society and he had won several awards, including the coveted Henry Hering Medal. One of Morgan's sculpture won an award at the National Acadamy of Design in 1984.
