Description: Ceramic Arts Studio (Madison WI 1940-55) is well-known for its beautifully designed & decorated figurines of people & animals. This dapper man from their "Foreign Costumes" series is called "Swedish Man" & was made by CAS in 1948. He is about 7 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and 3-1/4 inches front to back. The detailed hand-decoration typical of CAS pieces is evident on this piece with his clothing and hat, as well as the eyes, mouth, and blushing cheeks, He is marked on the bottom "Ceramic Arts Studio Madison, Wis." and the (c) BH for Betty Harrington and "Swedish Man". The decorator's paint dot is in the hole in the base. He is in excellent vintage condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing. Ships USPS.
