Description: Antique CDV Photo - Racehorse "Deucalion", Circa About 1870 Jacob Eckerson Haring, Naunuet, Rockland County, New York Van Wagner, Photographer, Nyack, New York A Standardbred horse bred and owned by Jacob Eckerson Haring, Deucalion was sired by Hambletonian 10 or Rysdyk's Hambletonian, the horse from which a great many living Standardbred horses descend. Deucalion was his most prized horse, and it is said at one point he refused an offer of $8000 for him. Measures 2 1/2" x 4 3/16" Shows a little wear, including a slight crease down the middle, more visible on the verso than the front. There is a corner crease at the top-right, lifting a tiny bit of the photo. See photographs for details. Feel free to send any questions or request additional photos.
